The right way to brush your teeth
Most of us brush too hard and too fast. Here's the gentle 2-minute technique dentists actually recommend.
Brushing isn't about scrubbing harder — it's about brushing smarter. Hard scrubbing wears down enamel and irritates gums.
The simple method
- Hold your brush at a 45° angle to the gum line.
- Use small, gentle circular motions — never a hard back-and-forth saw.
- Brush for a full 2 minutes, twice a day.
- Don't forget the tongue — it holds bacteria that cause bad breath.
Use a soft-bristled brush and replace it every 3 months. A fluoride toothpaste protects against cavities.
